Western High School currently has four complete computer labs, a smaller journalism lab, and several multi-station classrooms in special areas.  Instructors have their own laptop computers for student record keeping and professional work. Laser and video projection equipment enables the teaching staff to use interactive software programs in any classroom.

Another essential component of the Western School District is the careful selection of software that enhances and strengthens the curriculum at each grade level and that supports teacher productivity.  Western has an excellent base of over 120 instructional and teacher productivity software products that students and staff have access to including high tech software like CAD (computer assisted drafting), HyperStudio and PowerPoint (multimedia authoring), and a wide variety of CD and online resources (including on-line classes).

Video announcements originate from the Western School District production studio each morning.  Students and staff can now broadcast audio and video to any and all rooms in the entire district.  Additionally, digital camera, scanning, and a variety of desktop publishing materials are available.  See the link  on our home page to visit our Western Video Production Studio.
