NCA Goals:
Technology
Goal:
The students of the Western School District will be Prepared with the
skills, knowledge, and attitudes to successfully function in a rapidly
changing informational technological world.
Validation of need:
This is a district-wide goal. Western School District voters passed a $3.6
million bond designated for technology. A commitment was made to voters to
equip each school with computers, maintaining a 5 / 1 student / computer
ratio. Student and community surveys verified the need for computer
training.
Conflict Resolution
Goal:
All students will increase their ability to resolve conflicts.
Rationale:
Community, Parent, Teacher and Student surveys confirmed the need for a
program which teaches students to take responsibility in dealing with
conflicts. Recognizing the need exists, the Western School District is
conducting district-wide training for all employees in dealing with
conflict resolution.
