Accreditation

 Bean Elementary, accredited by the North Central Association originally in 1991, continues to meet the criteria for accreditation.  Accreditation signifies that Bean recognizes and meets the diverse needs of its students.

Core Curriculum

     Bean Elementary has met or exceeded the State Board of Education Core Curriculum in all areas:

                * Arts Education

                * Health and Physical Education

                * Language Arts Education

                * Mathematics and Science Education

                * World Studies Education (Social Studies)

                * Foreign Language

                * Technology

     Curriculum objectives are met through a variety of instructional practices.  Integration of learning occurs through a multidisciplinary approach.  Teachers and subject specialists, i.e., music, physical education and media specialists, work together to provide optimal learning experiences.

We are fortunate to have strong parent, PTA, and community support for our drug free program.  Again this year, several assemblies involving character, responsibility, and drug free information were presented for our students.

The variety and magnitude of our expanded curriculum are made possible by the use of resources from the staff and community.
