Lisa Wollet received national recognition for
excellence as a teacher educator from the Milken Family Foundation. Each
year 100 teachers are recognized across the nation. The award is not a
part of any nomination process. The foundation utilizes its own criteria
and selection process.
The award was presented at a school wide assembly at Parma Elementary with
State Legislatures, State Board of Education officials as well as Tom
Watkins, State Superintendent of Instruction present.
The award brings with it a $25,000 financial stipend for Lisa to utilize
in any fashion which she chooses! She will travel to Washington D.C. this
spring to join with the other 99 award winners for recognition and
potentially a meeting with the President of the United States.
For those of you that don't know Lisa personally, she is so very deserving
of this prestigious award. Lisa is a Western High School graduate who also
attended Parma Elementary. The staff of Parma Elementary is so proud to
have Lisa on our staff. She is a very special young woman. We would ask
that our entire school community join with us as we congratulate her as
the recipient of this wonderful recognition.
