Mission Statement  

The staff of Parma Elementary is committed
to providing a nurturing environment
that promotes life-long learning; enabling
each  child to be an educated, confident,
self-directed, and positive member of a
 constantly changing global society.

 

Core Curriculum

Parma Elementary has met or exceeded the State Board of Education Model Core Curriculum in all areas:

 

      * Arts Education

                Certified art instructor

                Certified music instructor

                School-wide programs presented annually

                Classroom drama presentations

 

      * Health and Physical Education

                Certified physical education instructor

                Michigan Health Model

                State Physical Education Curriculum

 

      * Language Arts Education

                Reading - MLPP and Guided Reading Instruction

                Accelerated Reader Program, grades 1-5

                Reading Recovery, grade 1

                Literacy Coaches, grades K-1-2

                Writing - writing process taught in grades K-5  -  Collins Writing Program

                Spelling - district representatives sent to Jackson County Spelling Bee
