Parma Elementary Profile

Parma Elementary serves 405 students in Young Fives through fifth grade.  There are 17 classrooms with a total of 41 staff members.  Parma’s daily attendance is 95%.

Student Achievement

Parma Elementary School administers standardized tests to evaluate the academic performance and progress of individual students.  The Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) is administered each year.  MEAP Test results are reported in percentage proficient.

School Improvement Plan

The Western School District Board of Education approved a five year plan for Parma Elementary School.  Ongoing curriculum studies are conducted and textbooks regularly reviewed.

A steering committee, comprised of an administrator, school board member, parents, teachers, and community members, oversees the school improvement process.  The following goals and strategies were established to address the needs of all Parma students:

                Writing:  All students will improve their ability to write across the curriculum.

                Social Studies:  All students will improve Social Studies skills at all grade levels.

Math:  All students will improve math skills at all grade levels.
