Dear Parents,
Hello, as the Character Education and Career Choices teacher I would
like to encourage your child to participate in some form of
community service. The papers attached explain “Project LEAPS” and
how many hours are needed to receive a certificate/ beanie baby frog
and community service tag. It is extremely important for our
children to learn the value of becoming well rounded individuals,
not only in the classroom but as upstanding citizens. In the
classroom through the “Character Counts” program we discuss what a
person of character is. We talk about a good person is someone to
look up to and admire, knows the difference between right and wrong
and always tries to what is right. He/She sets a good example for
everyone and makes the world a better place. By doing community
service your child would exemplify these traits. Below are some
activities for community service the classes came up with to help
our community. Thank you.
Educationally,
Mrs. Michele Rogotzke
This
month we are focusing on Careers. The students are learning about
careers that may be of interest to them. We are discussing the
Career Pathways and Career Clusters that align personal interests
with jobs.
For higher level learning we also have these two websites on the
High School you can use:
The High School Senior Transitions has a Career Pathways webpage
that lists careers and hobbies associated with them.
There is also a Career Pathways web section that lists careers,
higher education, salary ranges and more.
(this will open in a new window and then you can click on a pastel
color tab to open that career pathway - then there is a link at the
bottom of each page to return to the Career Pathways main page).
