Reading
This week in reading we read an informational text on Pompeii.
Pompeii was a city in Italy that was destroyed by a volcano
close to 2,000 years ago.
Language Arts
This week we revised and edited our memories story. In
grammar we focused on main idea and details as well as verbs.
We plan to begin persuasive essays next.
Math
We are finishing unit 3, measurement. We spent most of the
week reviewing area, perimieter, circumference, diameter and
converting inches to feet, feet to yards, and centimeters to
millimeters. Our next untie will focus on multiplication
and division. Students must learn their multiplication
tables during third grade. Please practice at home.
Science
Our new unit is on sound. This week we looked at tuning forks
and discussed different pitches.
Social Studies
Our new region is the
southeast region. We've had a brief overview of the region
and now will focus on the geography and economics of the area. |
