seeing how the earth changes and how the weather changes.
Cursive - we are learning to write in cursive. We are
starting with the lower case letters, and then will start on the
upper case letters.
Quilt material - We have made almost all of our quilt
squares. Please remember to send in your child's material;1 yard for
the front and one and a half yards for the back.
Thanks!
Lunch Time
Our lunch time is 11:55 - 12:40. |
Author Study
We continue to study and read the works of different authors. So far
we have enjoyed learning about Eric Carle, Kevin Henkes, Bill Peet,
and Steven Kellogg. We have been reading short
biographies, from "My First Book of Biographies". We are reading
books by Mem Fox, an Australian author. We will be learning about
Patricia Pollacco and Marc Brown next.
Reading
We have been reading

nonfiction books about penguins, Australia, storms, blizzards, the
North and South Poles. We are reading biographies on United States
Presidents and Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and Harriet Tubman.
Please encourage your child to do his/her Home Reading
assignment. We are asking each child to read at least 15 minutes a
day, at least 5 days a week. A form will be sent home for you to
fill out and date and send to school
on Friday or Monday, saying that your child did the home reading for
that week. If you lose this form, please just write a note saying
the reading was completed. Your child will receive a star on our
chart each week that the reading is done, and for every 4 stars they
will be able to choose a prize from our prize box! |
