Math

Parents, please continue to work on the number system with your children. Continued reinforcement with place value (up to millions) will greatly help them. Example: Using the number 8,347 ask your child to tell you what place value each digit is in, or ask what place value the 4 is in
* Answer (tens). Asking the same question two different ways may help them make a better connection. Also continue to work on counting by 2's, 5's, 10's & have different starting points. Example: ? Count by 10's starting at 3. Answer 3 - 13 - 23 - 33 - 43 - 53 - 63... Also ask your child to count bac
kwards starting at numbers like 43, 82, or 120. Telling time is still difficult for some of the children. Asking questions about a face clock will help give them a boost. Your child also needs to continue to work on adding 4, 5, & 6 digit numbers concentrating on regrouping.
