Accreditation

     Warner Elementary, accredited by the North Central Association since 1991, met the criteria to continue accreditation for the 2005-2006 school year.  Accreditation signifies that Warner recognizes the needs of its students and has specific goals to help them attain their potential.

 Core Curriculum
 

Warner Elementary has met or exceeded the State Board of Education Model Core Curriculum in all areas.

      * Arts Education

                Certified art instructor

                Certified music instructor

                Drama Club

 

      * Health and Physical Education

                Certified physical education instruction based on Michigan EPEC Program

                Michigan Health Model K-5

 

      * Language Arts Education

                Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening

                   An integrated literacy-based approach that emphasizes phonics and writing

                   Reading Recovery Program

                   Accelerated Reading Program

                   Literacy coaches in kindergarten and first grade

                   Michigan Literacy Progress Profile in place K-5

                Hands-on activities, manipulatives, and investigations emphasizing a problem-solving
                      approach

                       approach (Everyday Math)

                Career education curriculum culminated with a day long field trip to Exchange City for
