| Description | A succulent
plant with glossy, heart-shaped or kidney-shaped leaves and a thick,
hollow, branching stem with bright, shiny yellow flowers. Flowers are 1 - 1-1/2" wide; petal-like sepals 5 - 9; no petals; numerous stamens and pistals. Leaves are basal ones 2 - 7" wide, stalked, dark green, shallowly toothed; upper leaves becoming stalkless. Fruit forms in a whorl, each fruit splitting open along one side. |
