                                                                Prereq:    Teacher recommendation

Algebra I is a fast paced algebra course covering all topics in the algebra text in a one year period.  Algebra I is for the student who excels in the fundamentals of math.  The course will develop methods for solving first and second-degree equations and inequalities; concluding with use of the quadratic formula.  Problem solving is utilized throughout the course.  Linear graphing is included and emphasized.

Geometry                                              Length:  36 weeks                                Credit:    1.0                           Grade level:           9, 10, 11, 12

                                                                Prereq:    Algebra I

The study of geometric figures; both planar and spacial, the Euclidean Theorems concerning them, and their relationship to Algebra and Trigonometry.  The student learns to apply postulates, theorems, and logic in written form to prove geometric theorems and postulates

Algebra II                                              Length:  36 weeks                                Credit:    1.0                           Grade level:           10, 11, 12

                                                                Prereq:    Algebra I and Geometry

First semester, the sequence from variable to equation to function is extended into using functions as models for a number of applied settings. Probability, matrices, linear equations and inequalities, and analyzing number patterns will be covered. Second semester, number patterns, Quadratic functions, conic sections, and counting and arranging discrete objects will be the focus.

Pre-Calculus                                        Length:  36 weeks                                Credit:    1.0                           Grade level:           11, 12

Prereq:    Algebra I & II and Geometry

First semester, study radicals, rational exponents, factoring, functions and their graphs.  Algebra is used to model real-life problems. Most concepts will be covered algebraically and graphically. Second semester, Trigonometry, is the study of trigonometric ratios and right triangle trigonometry. A calculator is used to solve oblique triangles. Analytic Trigonometry, the unit circle, and identities are studied. The study of selected topics in advance math that prepares students for Calculus.
