* There are two substitutions for this requirement:
a. A student passing Forensics.
b. A student passing Debate.
** Students may waive the second 1/2 credit of
Physical Fitness by successfully competing and completing any two
seasons of a sport offered at Western High School. This may be two
seasons in one sport or one season in two or more sports.
A student may earn a maximum of one credit as an
assistant.
A student may earn a maximum of two credits from an
outside educational institution, other than college courses, unless
they are a transfer student.
The
total number of credits required for graduation is 26.
9. Figuring Semester Grades: Teachers of
like classes (EX: all English 9 teachers or all Physical Science
teachers) must agree on what weight each of the three
grades (both quarter grades and the final exam) has toward the final
semester grade. They must also arrive at that semester grade in the
same fashion. Also, all teachers are to count an attendance failure
as a 59%, unless the student earned a lower percentage, at which
case the lower percentage would be used. If letter grades are used
instead of percentages, an attendance failure is an “E”. For
