Advanced Video Production Class

Advanced Video Productions class works on various video productions throughout the year in addition to producing the daily announcements at the high school that are broadcast in the afternoon. Recently they had the opportunity to visit the Bart Hawley studio in Jackson to see a real television show under production (see photos below).

On Friday, November 19^th, six students from John Anderson’s Advanced Video Productions class visited the Bart Hawley show to gain career information on what goes on behind the scenes of a live TV program.  Students attended a pre-production meeting to observe the planning needed to run the show and then worked side-by-side with the production crew.  Unbeknownst to them beforehand, they were also guests of Bart on the show.  Josh Beach was the spokesman for the group and used his experience as the anchor man of the WHS “Morning News in the Afternoon” to impress the listening audience with his knowledge and humor. Bart Hawley will in turn be a guest on the Western High School’s program.  Students gained valuable information that they will use in their class to make their show even more professional.  (Click on a photo to open a larger image in a new window.)
