What is RIF? Ø Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is an organization promoting literacy in children of all ages. Western High School is fortunate to have the support from RIF and our district to participate in this outstanding program. Every ninth grade student will have the opportunity to choose a new novel to read and keep as their own. RIF affords students the chance to build a personal library at home. Who is involved? Ø Each ninth grader takes part in RIF at three different distributions throughout their English course. In conjunction with each distribution, students partake in motivational activities to jump start their enthusiasm about reading. When are the distributions? Ø The distributions usually take place in September, February and April of each school year as long as RIF and our district continue their financial support and involvement. How can I help?
Ø
