School lockers are the property of the district. At no time does the district relinquish its exclusive control of lockers provided for the convenience of students. Periodic general inspections of lockers may be conducted by school authorities for any reason at any time, without notice, without student consent, and without a search warrant.
Students should not share lockers unless assigned to do so by administration. When sharing lockers, students need to be flexible and work with their locker mate.
Book Deposits
Books and equipment are being provided free. However, in order to ensure responsibility concerning school property, a book deposit is required from every student. This fee of $50.00 is payable at the high school office and is expected upon the student’s entry to the building. A family is expected to pay $50.00 for the first high school student, and $25.00 per each additional high school student. The deposit will be refunded after graduation, and in reverse order if more than one deposit is held.
Any damage or loss of textbooks, workbooks, library books, or school equipment will be deducted from the deposit. Statements will be issued at the close of each school year for any loss or damage. Reimbursement is expected prior to the start of the following year. If the deposit is not maintained at the $50.00 level; books, lockers, parking permits, and athletic equipment will not be issued.
The deposit will be returned to the parents, by check, at the end of the Senior year or at such time as the student leaves the school.
