Vehicle Search

High school students are permitted to park on school premises as a matter of privilege, not of right.  The school district retains authority to conduct routine patrols of the student parking lot and inspections of the exterior of student automobiles on school property.  The interiors of student vehicles may be inspected whenever a school authority has reasonable suspicion to believe that illegal or unauthorized materials are contained inside.  Such patrols and inspections may be conducted without notice, without student consent, and without a search warrant.  If a properly conducted search yields illegal or contraband materials, such findings shall be turned over to proper legal authorities for ultimate disposition.  Discipline by the school may also occur.

Driving to the Career Center

Students are not to drive to the Career Center unless they have been authorized by a parent and an administrator.  Students are expected to ride the regular Career Center bus provided by the school district.  This bus leaves for morning Career Center at 7:30am and for afternoon Career Center at 10:20am.  Penalties for unauthorized driving or riding to the Career Center in private transportation include:

First Offense- one day Career Center suspension - student stays at the high school and makes up Career Center
                 time at a later date.

Second Offense- three day Career Center suspension - student stays at high school and makes up Career Center
                time at a later date.

Third Offense- Student may be removed from Career Center and returned to high school for full schedule or suspended from school for up to ten days for being a persistent violator of school rules.

Visitors

In most cases, we discourage visitors.  Instead, we encourage people who are interested in finding out about our school to make an appointment with the guidance office for a guided tour.  A visitor pass will only be issued if approved by an administrator.  All visitors coming to the school are to report to the main office for assistance.
