Western Middle School Choir Student Handbook 2006 - 2007 |

Performance/Make-up Policy Students are expected to attend all scheduled performances. Every attempt is made to schedule performances so that they do not conflict with other school-sponsored activities, such as sporting events. On rare occasions, a student will miss a required performance. This absence will be considered either excused or unexcused. An unexcused absence includes, but is not limited to, babysitting, extracurricular activities, church functions, and lack of planning for transportation. In the case of an unexcused absence the grade may not be made up. An excused absence includes illness, emergency, or unavoidable family commitment. Excused absences, except in the case of emergency or illness, require a minimum of three weeks advanced notice given in the form of a written parental note. In the event of an illness or emergency please call 841-8204 as soon as possible so that the director is aware of the situation. The requirement for making up an excused absence is to sing the concert music for the director after school for evaluation within one week of the missed concert or the student’s return to school, whichever comes first. The student will receive a grade based on how they perform.
