First Aid or Illness

•  If any student is injured or too ill to remain in school, he or she needs to report to the nearest teacher or to the office.  If necessary, the parents/guardians will be called.

•   After an absence due to illness, please have a parent/guardian inform the school by writing a note in the student assignment book.  Present the note to Mrs. Van in the front office and she will stamp the note and change it on the records.  Show the stamped note to each teacher in order to receive a grace period for makeup work.

•  Parents may also advise the school of a student’s absence by calling Mrs. Van at 841-8376.  Have your student check in with Mrs. Van when he/she returns to get a stamp in their assignment book.  Show the stamp to each teacher in order to receive a grace period for  makeup work. 

     Food/Lunch Program
 

School lunch is available each full day of school and is 30 minutes long. Hot lunch will cost $2.10 and a quickie line is also available for other choices. Milk is available for $0.30. ID cards will be scanned to subtract the cost of purchases from student’s accounts. Money may be deposited into accounts before school or during lunchtime. It is up to the parent/student to keep track of the funds left in a student’s account. Please note that the district does not allow students to charge lunches. A student’s balance is available to them any time. Should you have any questions about a student’s account, please call the Food Service Office at 841-8260. The third time a student fails to bring his/her lunch card he/she will receive an alternative meal of the school’s choice (usually a peanut butter sandwich and milk).

WMS students are expected to take care of all their lunch litter before leaving the cafeteria. Food is to be eaten only in the cafeteria.

Breakfast is also available each morning before school for $1.20.

Vending machines containing snacks, fruit drinks, sport drinks, or water may be used either before first hour class or after seventh hour class, but not during the day. Pop is not available in any of the machines and is also not
