Discipline
WMS believes that responsible behavior is
necessary for success in school. Procedures and consequences have
been established in order to aid students in achieving responsible
behavior.

Consequences for bad choices include: Lunch detentions, 1 hour after
school detention, In-School Suspension (ISS), Out-of-School
Suspensions, or expulsion by the School Board. All of the above
consequences can be assigned by the administration. Failure to serve
your detention without prior arrangements will result in further
disciplinary action. In– and Out-of-School Suspensions also result
in the loss of privileges to attend or participate in after-school
activities, including but not limited to sports and Fun Nights. If
students are in In School or Out of School Suspension, or have too
many points from their team, they will not be allowed to attend Fun
Nights. Lunch detentions can be assigned by teachers for various
reasons, including but not limited to: tardies, being unprepared for
class, and minor misbehavior. Teachers may also use shorter
after-school detentions, parent calls, parent meetings, and other
strategies to help instill responsible behavior.
Behavioral Offenses - Including but not limited to:
• ARSON
- starting a fire, making a bomb threat, carrying or using
fireworks. This also includes pulling a false fire alarm.
• ASSEMBLY
MISCONDUCT - inappropriate behavior at assemblies. Know your
assembly rules. You may lose the privilege of attending future
assemblies if you
misbehave.
• CAFETERIA
CONDUCT - rude/disorderly conduct in the cafeteria including
throwing food and leaving food or wrappers on the tables and floor.
• DISRESPECT
- disrespectful behavior, including speech, tone, or gestures
towards school personnel.
