Parent Survey
In the fall of 2002 a survey was given to all seventh and eighth grade
parents asking them to assess their child's preparation in science, social
studies, and writing during the previous school year.
Approximately one-half (49%) of the eighth grade surveys were returned.
The composite score of parent responses was 3.77 on a five point likert
scale for all three subject areas.
A little less than half (45%) of the seventh grade surveys were returned.
The composite score of parent responses was 3.73 on a five point likert
scale for all three subject areas.
Student Survey
In the fall of 2002, a survey was given to 367 students in seventh and
eighth grades. The questionnaire asked students to recall the final
grade they received in the previous year for science and social studies.
It also asked them to choose from a list of responses to explain why they
received that grade. Finally, they rated how well the school had
prepared them to write in each class.
Person to Person Interviews
Our principal holds monthly parent meetings in order to receive
feedback and share information. Parents have an open forum to share
ideas. Overall, parents seem to be positive about their child's
education. |
